Kate Bloom has been a hairdresser since leaving school in 198? (She’ll let you guess her age!) After having built up a wide experience working in hair salons in this country and abroad, training with the some of her heroes e.g. Guy Kremer and Jonny Engstrom; she dreamt of one day opening her very own hairdressers in Cheltenham. Kate set her sights on doing this in a certain way. She didn’t really want the usual town centre type of salon - relying on a high turnover of walk-in clients simply to cover city centre rent and rates. She wanted clients to be able to experience the luxury of the personal touch from their hairdresser and spend the time with them to build a lasting relationship that works, without having to pay the high prices usually associated with this level of service. Having an integral beauty salon also had an important part to play in providing the complete experience that would leave you feeling cared for and special. The end results would be a happy, relaxed atmosphere for both staff and clients where they know that they will get the highest standard of service at a reasonable cost.
When in 2003, 4 St Lukes Road Cheltenham became available it seemed to be the perfect place to make her hairdressing salon dreams come true. It offered the scope for building a wide-reaching reputation across Cheltenham. Just 5 minutes walk from the town centre, Kate Bloom Hair and Beauty is large enough to have a cosmopolitan feel and vibrant atmosphere, but is not so big that it loses that intimate touch.
Kate set about building a professional salon team of like-minded staff who, like her, wanted them to work in an easygoing, relaxed environment. Everyone shared the ethos of being willing to learn and keep on learning, while developing great, communicative relationships with their clients.
